TLDCON 2023 Program Published

The 16th International Conference of Administrators and Registrars of ccTLDs of the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe (TLDCON 2023) is going to be held on September 12-13, 2023 in a hybrid format.

The Conference program has been published on the TLDCON 2023 website. Participants will have two days of exciting sessions on the most pressing issues of Internet governance and the state of the domain market.

The first section, "News from Partners", will start right after the morning coffee and Conference Opening. It will include brief overviews of noteworthy events from the previous year, plans for the following year, and details about performances in later sections. The section will be attended by Chris Mondini (ICANN), Maxim Burtikov (RIPE), Leonid Todorov (APTLD), Alexey Rogdev (TCI), Evgeny Morozov (MCC-IX), Irina Danelia (ccNSO ICANN), Natalia Filina (EURALO), Evgeny Kuskevich (.SU, RIPN), Pavel Gusev (.KZ), Andrey Kuzmichev (RU-CENTER), Andrey Vorobyev (Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ) and Vladislav Klyukov (Beget).

Then the business program of the conference will continue with a legal section dedicated to legislation in the IT field. Sergey Kopylov, Deputy Director for Legal Affairs of the Coordination Center, will be the moderator. The discussion will be attended by Anton Sergo (Internet and Law), Ekaterina Kalinicheva (Semenov&Pevzner), Marina Rozhkova (IP Club), Pavel Patrikeev (Patrikeev & Partners Legal Service), Lyudmila Gontar (Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) and Chris Buckridge (EU Regulatory Update).

After lunch, there will be a lecture by ICANN Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer John Crane. Immediately after the section, there is a section on Internet security. Its participants will be Ivan Vlasov (MSK-IX), who will talk about trusted NTP as an additional network security factor, Alexander Vurasko (Solar Security LLC), as well as representatives of Kaspersky Lab and ICANN.

The business program of the first day will end with a section dedicated to development trends and new marketing methods in national domains. The speakers will be: Anna Karakhanyan (ISOC AM), Alexey Goncharov (Serpantin advertising agency), Leonid Todorov (APTLD), who will talk about domain registration trends in the national registries of the Asia-Pacific region, and Karen Kazaryan (ANO Tsifrovaya ekonomika) with the study of trends in the development of the digital economy as a factor in the promotion of national domains.

The second day of the conference will be opened by the "Network Measurements and Analysis" section, whose experts will be Dmitry Kovalenko (MSK-IX) and Bastian Goslings (RIPE). And the program will continue with a joint section with representatives of competent organizations dedicated to security in the Internet domain space. The main topic of the section will be a discussion of modern trends related to phishing, including the growth in the number of resources aimed at users of specific marketplaces. What methods are used by attackers? What losses do users and sites suffer? What countermeasures are the most effective? These and other issues will be discussed by Evgeny Pankov (Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ), Dmitry Kiryushkin (BI.ZONE), Stanislav Goncharov (F.A.C.C.T.) and Kirill Myakishev (OZON). The moderator of the section will be Georgy Georgievsky, Head of the Department for Work with Registrars and Users of the Coordination Center.

In addition to the business program, TLDCON 2023 participants are waiting for a "zero" day, during which the conference speakers will meet with students and teachers of Petrozavodsk universities and colleges and give them lectures on the development of the Internet and domain space in Russia and in the world, a welcome cocktail and a tour of Petrozavodsk and its surroundings.
