“Study the Internet & Govern It!” Glossary Has Been Updated

The Internet Glossary section on the interactive project “Study the Internet & Govern It!” website is supplemented with new dictionary entries.

The 45 terms included in the glossary are related to Big Data, cryptocurrencies and malware.

Visit the Glossary pages to find out:

  • how many types of Trojans exist (spoiler: at least banking, gaming, clicker Trojans, droppers, rootkits, nukers, extortionists, as well as those designed specifically for instant messengers, short messaging service - SMS and, unfortunately, many others)
  • how mining differs from forging
  • what digital currency can be called altcoins
  • what data is contained in Data Lake
  • what methods and algorithms exist for working with Big Data
  • under what term can the following technologies be combined: massive parallel processing, intellectual analysis, distributed databases, cloud computing, scalable storage systems

...and many other interesting facts!

You can get theoretical training on the topic of big data, viruses and digital currencies, and then fix this information in memory with the help of games, in the Knowledge section of the website. Games are available to absolutely all users of the project: to complete tasks, it is enough to log in or register. Account data can also be used to sign in to the drilling mobile app and the quiz.

By the way, not only the Internet Glossary has been updated, but also the “creative” sections of the “Study the Internet & Govern It!”. In particular, in the Infographics section, an online exhibition of the project's mascots, invented and embodied in graphics by the participants of one of the past Championships “Study the Internet & Govern It!”, was opened. And the “Video” section was replenished with stories about modern teachers using information technology in their work, and video instructions for Internet beginners on how to effectively and safely use various applications and IT tools.

As a reminder, the “Study the Internet & Govern It!” was created and is being developed by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ with the support of PJSC Rostelecom.
