“Ot Winta!”: More than 30 Countries Took Part in the Festival of Scientific and Technical Creativity in Sochi

The International Festival of Children's and Youth Scientific and Technical Creativity "Ot Winta!" was held in the Rosa Khutor mountain cluster of the Krasnodar Territory, on the site of the multifunctional concert complex ROSAHALL from April 26 to April 29, 2023. The event was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia with the assistance of the administrations of the regions of the Russian Federation. The festival was attended by a record number of delegations from foreign countries. Representatives of 31 states demonstrated their developments, adopted the best practices of Russian colleagues and got acquainted with the widest range of industries. The achievements of past discussions and events will subsequently be presented as part of the World Youth Festival, which will be held in February-March 2024 by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation also congratulated the participants of the festival, which turned 18 this year, on the opening: “I am sure that "Ot Winta!" will continue to promote the involvement of young people in the orbit of scientific and technical creativity, the training of cadre for our high-tech industries.”

On April 28, the Youth Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, in cooperation with the International Information Security School of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a "The Role of Youth in the Development of Cooperation in the field of International Information Security" round table. During the teleconference with foreign colleagues, the participants exchanged experience of youth initiatives in the field of international information security. Chairman of the Youth Council Andrey Aleinikov and specialist of the External Communications Department of the Coordination Center Pavel Pozdnyakov spoke about their activities in this area, as well as about joint projects with the IIB School. The IIB School was represented by its founder Arevik Martirosyan, who became the moderator of the section, and a member of the Executive Directorate of the School, Daria Stepovaya. The round table speakers also included: Founder of Marco IT, An Line Ltd expert consultant Phi Son Nguyen from Vietnam, member of the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance Phyo Thiri Lwin, Member ISOC Rekik Girmachew and Miloš Jovanović are President of OpenLink Group (Serbia).

Experts from Australia, Bangladesh, Haiti, Ghana, Costa Rica, Myanmar, Serbia, Tanzania and Ethiopia took part in the round table as the international youth Internet community.

A rich cultural program and an interactive exhibition awaited the participants of the Festival. Achievements of the domestic industry, modern samples of products, equipment and technologies of industrial enterprises, engineering centers and youth project teams were presented within the framework of the exhibition.

The festival is a key event of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to support and develop youth scientific and technical creativity and industrial career guidance. The chairman of the organizing committee of the festival is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. Festival "Ot Winta!" is the first in post-Soviet Russia to ensure systematic work on the revival of the Soviet youth school of scientific and technical creativity.
