The Winners Of The IP&IT Law 2023 Competition Were Announced

On April 20, the winners of the IP&IT Law 2023 competition, organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ together with the IP&Digital Law IP CLUB, an expert and educational project in the field of IP&IT Law, were awarded. The ceremony was held as part of the panel discussion Intellectual Property In The Era Of Information Technology Development", which opened the Intellectual Property Week.

8th All-Russian Youth Competition on Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law - IP&IT LAW 2023 - was held under the auspices of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the support of the Court for Intellectual Property Rights, Rospatent and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, as well as a number of partner organizations of the competition, which award the laureates with valuable awards and memorable prizes.
IP&IT LAW 2023 winners:

  • 1st place – Alina Minakova, post-graduate student of the Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management with "Issues of the Intersection Of The Legal Regimes Of A Work Of Design And Industrial Pattern";
  • 2nd place – Valentina Chebodaeva, master student of St. Petersburg State University with "Content Generated By A Neural Network: Who Is To Blame And What To Do?";
  • 3rd place – Veronika Fedorova, graduate of the Saratov State Law Academy with "Protection Of Parts Of Works: The Legal Status Of Artlangs In Copyright".

The winners of all nominations established by the partners of the competition can be seen on the IP&IT Law website.

The chairman of the jury of the competition, the president of IP CLUB Marina Rozhkova said that this year a lot of works are devoted to Artificial Intelligence, and it was very difficult for the jury members to make their choice. She also noted the very high level of submitted works. “The IP&IT Law competition has become a place of attraction for future industry lawyers – our winners and prize-winners are tracked and invited to work by the best law firms,” Marina Rozhkova said.

IP CLUB is a popular educational and expert project in the field of intellectual property and digital law. Its participants study how new information technologies and the development of intellectual property affect modern law. IP CLUB holds its events not only for students and teachers, but for everyone who is engaged in self-study and self-development, those who are interested in the development of digital law and intellectual property law. The mission of the club is to promote everything useful for the development and improvement of national law.

In 2018, the IP&IT LAW competition was awarded the Runet Prize in the special nomination "For Contribution to the Development of Legal Thought in the Digital Society".

The IP&IT LAW competition was listed in the Scientific Research Competitions category in the Pravo.Ru list of the major competitions and academic competitions in 2022.
