"Information Security and Children" Conference

VII All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Information Security and Children" is being held in a hybrid format on March 1-4. The main topic of the conference was the formation of a culture of information security for participants in educational relations.

Representatives of the Coordination Center for RLD .RU/.РФ took part in the section "School Digital Envoy In State-Public And Children's Self-Government In Educational Organizations", which took place on March 1. The section was moderated by Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center, and Elena Lyamtseva, Manager of Educational Projects at the Academy of Innovative Education and Development.

The speakers of the section were teachers and employees of educational organizations, librarians and psychologists. They introduced the audience to a number of projects aimed at ensuring information security: they talked about electronic publications as a tool for shaping the information culture of children and adolescents, emphasized the need to train cybersecurity teachers, and also considered the advantages and dangers of the information society and child-parent relationships in the context of information processes. Andrey Aleinikov, Chairman of the Youth Council of the Center, spoke about the projects of the Coordination Center aimed at improving the digital literacy of children, adolescents and youth. He noted that the skills of safe behavior in the digital environment need to be formed from an early age.

Director of the Coordination Center Andrei Vorobyev emphasized the importance of creating a comfortable and safe information environment for children. “The most important thing in such conferences is the contacts that appear during their holding. We already have ideas for new events and projects with our colleagues,” he added.

As part of the conference, there was a plenary session, moderated by Olga Rubtsova, rector of the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, editor-in-chief of the VNEshkolnik magazine, and Nadezhda Alenina, adviser to the chairman of the Women's Union of Russia was held on March 2.

Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova and Chairman of the Women's Union of Russia Yekaterina Lakhova delivered a welcoming speech.

Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev emphasized the importance of the continuity of generations and spoke about the development of an educational module dedicated to the legacy of the Soviet Union in the field of informatics and informatization within the framework of the project "Study the Internet & Govern It". He also announced the start of the 7th All-Russian Family IT Marathon 2023, which will be held from March 2 to April 25, 2023.
