On February 21-22, the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association will host the APTLD 83. The Conference is going to be held in a hybrid format, the venue will be the city of Vientiane (Laos).
Representatives of the region's national registries will discuss Internet regulation and cybersecurity issues, challenges that ccTLD registries may face during the second round of the ICANN New gTLDs program, best practices in DNS and IP address management, and more.
Experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will take part in the Conference. On February 22, Vadim Mikhailov, consultant of the Coordination Center for Infrastructure, will make a presentation on proactive detection of malicious domain registrations at the Technical: Automated Detection of Malicious Registrations section. Also, Coordination Center’s specialists plan to share their experience in the field of industry regulation, marketing of domain zones, ensuring the security of national domains, and talk about how the Russian registry organizes youth participation in Internet Governance processes.
The Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD) unites more than 50 national registries of the region, including the registries of the largest ccTLDs: Russia, China, India and other countries. APTLD was established in 1998 and is one of four regional ccTLD registry organizations. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has been participating in APTLD since 2010.
