The Best Travel Portals in Russia Received the Runet Prize

On December 13, the 19th Runet Prize ceremony took place at the site of the MIA Rossiya Segodnya. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has traditionally become a partner of the Runet Prize and established a special nomination "Travels in .РФ" in 2022.

Companies that established the most popular and user-friendly domestic tourism portals that operate on ccTLD .PФ were presented in a special nomination by the Coordination Center. Ten projects were on the nomination's shortlist; five of them won the coveted main industry award.

Special nomination winners:

  • “Спортивные Столицы” - a series of documentaries on the cities of Russia, which have the unofficial status of the capitals of certain Olympic sports
  • “Этокарелия.рф”- a website about tourist attractions in Karelia
  • “Oh my grad. The Theory of Small Deeds” is a documentary series about people who change the pulse and shape of their cities
  • “Слетать.рф” - tourist search engine
  • “Откройкрым.рф” - ready-made excursions and routes around the Crimea for individual tourism

The winners received their awards from Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.

“This year, traveling around Russia has become a trend for most of our citizens, and the appearance of many websites and portals in Runet largely stimulates the development of domestic tourism. We are happy to encourage those who help Russians with choosing a place for recreation and travel, simplify logistics, and solve problems with booking tickets and hotels via the Internet. And we could not single out just one person – many resources in the .РФ domain deserve our statuette, and we have chosen the truly best of the best,” Andrey Vorobyev said.

The Runet Prize is an annual national award for contribution to the development of the Russian segment of the Internet. Traditionally, IT companies, government, commercial and public organizations, media, startups and individual projects compete for awards. This year, the award was presented in 6 main and 5 special nominations, as well as in 3 nominations of the “Popular Election”. In total, according to the Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC), 1135 applications were submitted for participation in the Prize and 57 winners were announced.
