“Study the Internet & Govern It!” Becomes Inclusive

December 3 is the United Nations' International Day of Persons with Disabilities, established by the UN General Assembly on October 14, 1992. Every year on December 1, a decade of people with disabilities starts around the world, timed to coincide with this day. Its main task is to draw attention to the problems of people with disabilities and unite the society in solving issues related to their integration.

The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ joins the #startinclusion campaign launched by the community of people with disabilities of the inclusive Everland project. The project “Study the Internet & Govern It” is developing a special module for blind people.

“There are more than 10 million people with disabilities in Russia, for whom it is extremely important to be integrated into society. For more than 10 years, the Coordination Center for for TLD .RU/.РФ, together with PJSC Rostelecom, has been implementing the educational project “Study the Internet & Govern It!”, aimed at improving digital literacy. We believe that it is very important that the digital environment becomes comfortable for people with visual loss. We have made our project compatible with screen readers so that blind people also have the opportunity to gain knowledge about the Internet and digital technologies,” says Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center.
