A working meeting of experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ with accredited registrars and hosting providers in St. Petersburg took place on November 30. The participants discussed the prospects for implementing identification and authorization systems, the readiness of registrar information systems to work with internationalized e-mail, and cybersecurity issues.
Irina Danelia, Deputy Director of the Coordination Center, told her colleagues about plans for further development of the .RU and .РФ zones for the next year, and Georgy Georgievsky, Head of the Registrar and User Relations Department, analyzed errors in the operation of registrar client services. Together with Maria Kolesnikova, Chief Analyst of the Coordination Center, the meeting participants discussed the issue of Universal Acceptance. Evgeniy Pankov, head of special projects of the Center, spoke about the specifics of the fight against complex phishing.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Technical Center of Internet, and this made it possible to resolve many pressing issues on the spot.
“I am glad that it is possible to meet face-to-face again and in a friendly conversation discuss the business issues of registrar and hosting business. In a good working environment, we worked out a number of issues that are of interest to our partners,” Georgy Georgievsky summed up the meeting.
The topics of the last meeting will be continued at the XXXV All-Russian Forum of Hosting Providers and Domain Registrars (HostObzor), which opens today in the Leningrad Region. On December 2, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, which has traditionally acted as a partner of the forum, is holding a "Domain Colloquium" at HostObzor.
