What will be discussed at IGF 2022?

The Digital Reality Discussion Club met on Zoom on November 24 to go over topics for the next Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2022).

Even though the Forum's outcomes are not legally binding, participating enables you to call attention to a variety of issues, infer the parties' interests, and strengthen horizontal links.

During the stream participants discussed what issues should be considered, what has changed about the Forum's framework, and how the Global Digital Compact (GDC) will be debated at the IGF. Along with actively participating in the chat, viewers also actively asked the experts questions.

It would be interesting to watch how sanctions-related concerns would be addressed, the experts said. Ilona Stadnik, the club's moderator, also called attention to the fact that "eternal" issues, like the government's role in Internet control, are still on the agenda.

"Only the iceberg's tip was touched today. We talked about a few things, like how the internet is fragmented, sanctions, the youth agenda, and the Global Digital Compact, but the forum will also cover things like artificial intelligence, platform regulation, content control, and human rights. So, if you haven't had a chance to apply yet, now is the moment," says Ilona Stadnik.
