The competition is held by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in cooperation with with IP CLUB under the auspices of WIPO and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the Intellectual Property Rights Court and other partners.
Students, PhDs and young professionals studying law in the field of information technology, intellectual property, digital technologies and e-business are invited to participate in the competition.
The best competitive works will be published in the journal of the Court for Intellectual Property Rights, and the winners will receive valuable prizes, certificates for participation in educational programs and paid internships.

In 2018, the competition was awarded the Runet Prize in the special nomination “For Contribution to the Development of Legal Thought in the Digital Society”, in 2022, in the ranking of the main legal competitions and Olympiads by Pravo.Ru, the competition is present in the category “Scientific Research Competitions”.
The goals of IP&IT LAW-2023 are:
- identification of promising areas in the field of legal support for the introduction and use of digital technologies, legal protection and protection of intellectual property rights in the digital environment, legal support for electronic business
- increasing youth interest in legal issues closely related to the development of the digital economy
- stimulating the growth of research activities of students, PhDs and young professionals
- attracting state and public attention to the legal aspects of the digital economy
