The third Summer School on Internet Governance has begun

The third Summer School on Internet Governance began on October 1st. 152 applications were submitted for participation despite the fact that time the school was officially called "autumn" (the word "summer" in the title is a tribute to the already established format). 95 individuals from seven countries — Armenia, Belarus, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan — were accepted to the preparatory stage of the School based on the results of the selection procedure. Nearly 70% of the applicants are young adults between the ages of 16 and 22, and the majority of them are female.

International relations, law, business and management, journalism and media, information technology and systems, telecommunications, programming, information security, economics and public administration, linguistics, political science, philosophy, commodity science, and even museology and medicine are among the educational and professional fields represented by the candidates.

There are two phases to the Summer School on Internet Governance program. An introductory course on Internet Governance will be offered from October 1 to October 26, after which 40 of the most motivated students will be chosen to take part in the School's main stage.
Additionally, the School's main stage will be conducted from November 1 to November 16 at which time participants will address current issues in Internet governance with experts and practitioners. The program consists of lectures and group discussions, and you will be required to produce an analytical essay at the conclusion of the classes.

Ilona Stadnik, the Coordination Center's curator of youth projects, remarked that this year there were a record number of submissions received, and the selection process was difficult.

“However, the school's current class includes both very attractive young people and experienced pros. Their diverse backgrounds will contribute to making the educational experience even richer because classrooms not only feature lectures from experts in Internet Governance but also an open discussion among students,” she added.

The school is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.PФ in cooperation with the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University and is part of the global Schools on Internet Governance movement. Students will obtain a certificate of completion of the extra education program from St. Petersburg University after completing the primary phase of instruction.

Good luck!
