On May 18-20, the XXVI Russian Internet Forum is going to be held in the “Lesnye Dali” boarding house near Moscow. This year, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has become an organizational partner of the Forum and will hold its events there.

On May 18, the Coordination Center brings to the discussion of the RIF 2022 participants one of the most relevant topics today - speakers and forum participants in an equal discussion will talk about what a sovereign Internet is and why it is important. Technical experts, representatives of public organizations, scientists and politicians will talk about different aspects of the sovereign Internet and present all the pros and cons for this phenomenon.

The session participants will discuss the regulatory impact on the Russian domain industry and the changes that await the industry in connection with a possible future identification through the Unified Identification and Authentication System (ESIA) for the purposes of domain name registration. Another topic for discussion will be the unprecedented sanctions pressure exerted on the industry as a whole, and the further development of the .RU and .РФ domains in these conditions, as well as measures to ensure the security of the Russian domain space. Representatives of competent organizations will speak about the organization of combating the use of domains for illegal purposes. The Coordination Center’s specialists will share news in the field of IDN implementation and talk in detail about what is happening with the .РФ domain, which is celebrating its birthday just these days.

Domain business experts will talk about how to choose a domain name, create and promote your website, and then organize sales channels using the website, lawyers will share knowledge about the legal aspects of domain name registration, and information security experts will give useful advice on how to protect your domain and website from intruders. On May 18, there will be an awarding ceremonies for the laureates of two legal competitions of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in cooperation with IP CLUB. The Coordination Center, together with the Russian Working Group on Universal Acceptance, will award the winner of the competition for the best work on the legal aspects of Universal Acceptance of domain names and email addresses. The laureates of the 7th All-Russian Youth Competition on Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law (IP&IT LAW – 2022) will also receive their awards.
Start of the "DOT Journalism" competition

On May 18, the 10th anniversary competition "DOT Journalism" will be launched. This is an annual competition for journalists writing about domains and other Internet addressing systems, which is held by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ with the support of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC). The purpose of the competition is to encourage journalists who cover trends and phenomena in the domain industry, key events related to the use of DNS and other Internet addressing systems in their articles, analytical materials, reports.
