On April 7, the Legal Committee of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ held an online meeting, chaired by Chairman of the Legal Committee and head of the law firm Internet and Law Anton Sergo and Deputy Director for Legal Issues at the Coordination Center Sergey Kopylov.
The meeting participants discussed the enforcement of judgements in disputes on the illegal use of trademarks in domain names, the operative part of which specifies classes of the Nice Classification.
They addressed possible future identification through the Unified Identification and Authentication System for the purposes of registering domain names, the problems that foreign legal entities and individuals may face in this regard, and ways to solve them.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed exercising the pre-emptive right in the event that a court decision is reversed or a decision is overturned by higher authorities.
