Regional Digital Lesson held in Vladimir

On January 25, the Quantorium children’s technology park at the Novikova Vladimir Institute of Education Development hosted the regional Digital Lesson, organized by the Vladimir Region Department of Education, the Department of Digital Development and the institute’s Department of Digital Education and Information Security. Regional and federal experts in information security and digital literacy spoke at the online lesson, which involved over 100 educational organizations of the region.

The Digital Lesson highlighted the Study the Internet & Govern It interactive educational project. Olga Yakovleva, head of projects at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, spoke about ways to boost the digital literacy of school and university students through games, using the Coordination Center’s educational projects as an example. She talked at length about the objectives and goals of Study the Internet & Govern It, including that the project is designed to improve knowledge of information security and computer literacy. She also told the audience about the launch of a new module in the Knowledge section that teaches about malware.

“The main part of digital literacy is computer literacy, which can prevent 95 percent of cyberattacks. Knowledge of how to counteract malware, which can be received through play, will help school and university students to lower the risks and not be part of a network that cybercriminals use to organize their attacks,” Olga Yakovleva said.
