On November 20, the jury of the All-Russian Contest Photodomain.РФ stopped accepting photos. The contest was organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. A total of 1,128 photos were submitted, with jury members selecting 210 of them.
Organizing Committee officials noted that many potential contestants did not read the event rules very attentively. As a result, many of the photos submitted did not meet the main criterion, namely, they did not show an image of the .РФ domain name. The organizers were therefore in no position to publish some truly beautiful and professional level photos. The Organizing Committee hopes that there will be much fewer mistakes in the next contest.
Business in .РФ was the most popular category, with 74 photos, followed by Nature in .РФ with 49 works. Other categories include Tasty in .РФ (31 photos), Cities in .РФ (29 photos) and Fashion in .РФ (27 photos).
Following a popular vote, these photos will receive viewer awards:
First place: Nature.РФ
Second place: Preserve Forests.РФ
Third place: Guinea Pig.РФ
Now that viewers have voted, experts are just getting down to business. Prior to December 1, they will select the five best works in each category, and then the jury will select the winners whose names will be announced at RIW 2021 this December.
“We are delighted to note that our participants have been creative, and that, apart from advertising posters, their photos contain a variety of compositions. The works submitted highlight an interest in Cyrillic domains in various Russian regions from Murmansk to Anapa and from Bryansk to Krasnoyarsk. We see that these domains are being used to promote goods, services and projects in a variety of ways. Our experts will now have the final say, and we are looking forward to seeing the list of finalists,” said Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
