A meeting of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Council was held in the format of absentee voting.
Among other issues was the financing of the Center for Global IT Cooperation (CGITC) established by the Coordination Center in December 2020.
On the eve of the council meeting, a working meeting took place between the council members, the Coordination Center management and the leadership of the Center for Global IT Cooperation, where a report on the work done by the CGITC in the first half of the year was presented. During this period, the CGITC held a range of events, including the Youth RIGF on April 6, 2021 at Skoltech as well as section meetings at the Russian Internet Governance Forum and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The CGITC’s experts took part in the activities of the Summer School on Internet Governance. In addition, during this reporting period the CGITC prepared a survey, “A review of international experience in the regulation of global digital platforms in national jurisdictions and an article for the international conference Engineering Technologies and Informatics: Innovation and Application under the auspices of the IEEE. At the meeting, the Center for Global IT Cooperation’s work plan for the second half of the year was presented. The Global Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2021, December 2021, Poland) will be one of the key events here, preparations for which have already begun.
Following the vote, the Center for Global IT Cooperation’s application for financing for the second half of the year was approved.
The participants in the meeting discussed several other issues related to the Coordination Center’s activities.
