Super-personalization and artificial intelligence: Between convenience and security

On August 26, the Digital Reality discussion club will hold another meeting, “Super-personalization and artificial intelligence: Between convenience and security.”

Today artificial intelligence’s complicated algorithms improve the selection of targeted content on the internet: both when showing ads and on streaming services, as well as in social media feeds. This directly influences the consumption and perception of information. However, in addition to convenience and content optimization, AI can be used in such super-personalized systems for other purposes: for example, to conduct an aggressive information campaign, which raises the question of the ethics of using AI when setting personalization algorithms.

The meeting participants will discuss AI’s connection with personalization, the parties interested in distorting AI personalization, and the information algorithms know about us. They will talk about what super-personalization is and who can use super-personalized systems, as well as try to determine the limits of acceptable AI use in personalization. At the end of the meeting, there will be a discussion of whether it is necessary to devise a code of ethics in order to develop and use artificial intelligence.
