Between June 28 and July 8, the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ held an absentee vote on amending the Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration in .RU and .РФ, the Accreditation Agreement, the Requirements for Accredited Registrars and the Regulation of the Commission on Accreditation Disputes, and discussed a note to the general shareholders’ meeting on the Coordination Center’s priority areas of activity (development strategies) until 2025. The council also discussed financial and organizational matters.
Members reviewed and approved the updated versions of the Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration in .RU and .РФ, the Accreditation Agreement, the Requirements for Accredited Registrars and the Regulation of the Commission on Accreditation Disputes. The changes concerned domain names whose registrants had ceased to operate, and ensuring the stability of the domain registration system in the event that a registrar’s access to the registry was suspended and the registrar failed to take action. The list of mandatory information to be provided by WHOIS was expanded. The Regulation of the Commission on Accreditation Disputes was also updated. Registrars will be notified of the changes at least 30 calendar days before their effective date.
The Council also decided to present a draft of the Coordination Center’s priority areas of activity (development strategy) until 2025 and to submit it to the general shareholders’ meeting for approval. The document was reviewed and approved in principle during the previous meeting of the Council, with follow-up changes proposed by council members and Coordination Center founding shareholders.
The Council also discussed several organizational and financial issues.
