The CommuniGate Pro platform, which combines server solutions for email, messaging, calendars and IP-telephony, is the first Russian software product to receive confirmation of compliance with the Universal Acceptance criteria in .РФ and is fully ready to work with Cyrillic domain names and email addresses.
The Поддерживаю.РФ (Support.RF) project’s system for verifying software compliance with Universal Acceptance criteria determines whether software complies with the practices of Universal Acceptance in relation to Cyrillic domain names and email addresses in .РФ and is part of the program for promoting such products in the Russian market. Any software manufacturer or online service developer who has tested their product in accordance with the project rules and recommendations for supporting Cyrillic internet identifiers can undergo the compliance check.
According to Maria Kolesnikova, manager of the project, compliance checks for Universal Acceptance in .РФ are an important step in finalizing the software and verifying the quality of a product and its compliance with the most modern standards. “We, in turn, are making efforts to inform Russian consumers about software products that support high-quality work with Cyrillic domain names and email addresses, thus providing benefits and a better user experience for their consumers,” she added.

The Поддерживаю.РФ project was created by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in 2020 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Russian top-level domain .РФ. It is intended to help software developers implement full-fledged support for Cyrillic domain names and email addresses in their products, and to help system administrators choose and configure software that has such functionality. The project website contains Russian-language documentation on working with internationalized domain names (IDNs) and email addresses (EAI), including standards and best practices for their processing in software, as well as a regularly updated catalog of software products indicating their current IDN and EAI support status.
