The fifth Russian Family IT Marathon 2021 kicked off on March 2. Family teams consisting of schoolchildren in grades 5-11 and their parents, relatives or close friends are invited to participate. The competition will have two stages and will end on April 30. The results will be announced on May 15, the International Day of Families.
The IT marathon is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and the Academy for Innovative Education and Development, with the support of the Smart Internet Foundation (.ДЕТИ domain), Rostelecom and the School of New Technologies.
The competition will help families check their digital literacy, improve their media technology skills and test their creativity.
During the first stage, which will last until April 20, teams will have to complete a creative task: prepare a post on the Family IT Marathon for social media or make an infographic based on the educational game content from the Coordination Center’s project Study the Internet & Govern It.
During the second stage, to be held on April 21-30, teams will compete in the online tournament on the website of the Study the Internet & Govern It project. The tournament includes 24 interactive tasks on such topics as internet culture and linguistic diversity on the internet. Registration for the tournament is already open and will last until its start.
The winners of the IT marathon will be determined by the total points earned in the first and second stages. The leaders of the first and second stages will also be awarded. The prizes include a certificate, a 3D pen, a board game and useful souvenirs from the marathon’s organizers. All other participants will receive electronic certificates.
