Meeting of the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ

On November 30, the Council of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ met to discuss current financial and organizational issues.

The Council members reviewed and approved the plan of activities and the financial plan (budget) of the Coordination Center for 2021.

Those present also approved financing for the project proposed by the Competence Center of Information and Telecommunication Networks to establish the Information Culture of Digital Transformation Department at the Institute of Information Sciences of Moscow State Linguistic University. The new department will become one of the main platforms in Russia for training specialists to work at international organizations. It will offer a professional master's program for the training and advanced training of specialists working at the international level – multi-skilled specialists with expertise in information protection, national and international law, and foreign languages, capable of handling debate and acting in non-standard situations. The plans to create this department were thoroughly discussed during the online discussion “Information culture of digital transformation,” organized in June 2020 by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, the Russian Association of Networks and Services (RANS) and Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), and dedicated to the 10th anniversary of ccTLD .РФ and the 90th anniversary of MSLU.

The Council members also approved the financing of the Smart Internet Foundation, which provides support for online initiatives. As a reminder, the Smart Internet Foundation’s mission is to promote the development of children's internet in Russia and support humanitarian projects online. It also acts as the registry for the .ДЕТИ domain established for addressing Russian-language sites for children and about children.

At the end of the meeting, the Council members amended the Coordination Center’s financial plan (budget) for 2020 and considered a number of organizational issues.
