The first stage of the 15th Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2020) started today. This year the forum is being held online for the first time and will run for over two weeks. The second main stage of the forum will begin on November 9. The IGF will conclude on November 17.
Experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ are taking an active part in the forum. On November 16, the center’s chief analyst Maria Kolesnikova will moderate the session “Universal acceptance of domain names and e-mail addresses,” and on November 17 she will speak at the session “Multilingualism on the Internet: old challenges and new perspectives.” Also in the Coordination Center’s focus is the IGF youth track, where the curator of the Summer School on Internet Governance, Ilona Stadnik, will talk about her work.
On the eve of the forum, the Coordination Center held an introductory webinar on preparations for participation in IGF 2020 for graduates of the Summer School on Internet Governance and participants in educational projects. At the webinar, participants were told about the history of the IGF, the formats of the activities, and the 2020 program.
Webinar host Ilona Stadnik analyzed the types of activities at IGF 2020 and highlighted IGF events that, in her opinion, would be interesting and useful for participants. She spoke in detail about the IGF 2020 youth program and invited everyone to take part.
