The submission deadline for DOT Journalism 2020, the eighth annual contest for internet journalists, is fast approaching. You can submit an application for participation to compete for the title of this year’s best domain journalist until November 1, 2020, on the official website of the competition, дот-журналистика.рф.
The jury will examine articles, reports, and analytical materials on events in the domain industry and related topics. These works must be written and published between January 1 and November 1, 2020.
Prizes will be awarded in six categories for professional journalists, as well as in the Young Correspondents special category for beginning writers aged below 18. Young journalists are to prepare an article on a topic related to domains, as well as the internet and digital technology in general. Several special prizes will be awarded, with REG.RU choosing one winner.
The contest jury consists of heads of domain industry organizations’ press services and representatives of ICANN and RIPE NCC. They will also have the right to nominate any piece of journalism on a related topic which was not submitted to the contest.
The results will be announced in December. Winners will receive certificates and a set of prizes: an electronic device, certificates for domains and hosting, a board game, and useful souvenirs from the organizers.
DOT Journalism 2020 is organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and RAEC, with the support of the Smart Internet Foundation. REG.RU is its official registrar.
The goal of the contest is to encourage journalists to cover trends and phenomena of the domain industry, as well as key events related to the use of DNS and other internet addressing systems, in their articles, analytical materials and reports. The contest also aims to promote domain topics among internet users, to explain the advantages of owning a domain name, and to improve the professional level of materials on internet addressing systems and new technology.
