The Coordination Center for TLDs .RU/.РФ together with ROCIT is carrying out a survey, which will help experts evaluate demand regarding the use of Cyrillic domains and email accounts in Russia.
This year, the Cyrillic ccTLD .РФ marked its 10th anniversary. Today it has 730,000 registered second-level domain names. Moreover, Russian internet users register Cyrillic domains in other TLDs, such as .МОСКВА and .ДЕТИ. However, not all software and online services provide full support for Russian speakers and opportunities to navigate the internet using only Russian (including content and internet identifiers such as domain names, email addresses, and user accounts).
The Coordination Center for TLDs .RU/.РФ is working hard to ensure a speedy implementation of Universal Acceptance (UA): a concept requiring all possible domain names and emails to be equally accepted, checked, stored, processed and displayed across all applications and internet services. Every user can help solve this problem, for example, by answering the questions in the survey on Cyrillic domain names.
The short questionnaire will only take 5-7 minutes.
The survey is open until July 20.
