On May 25, the order on issuing recognition awards by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was published on the official legal information website.
Thirteen representatives of the telecommunications industry, including four employees of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, received awards for their contribution to developing the Russian internet. The CC for TLD .RU/.РФ awardees include Director Andrei Vorobyev, Deputy Director Irina Danelia, Head of the Department for Registrar and User Relations Georgy Georgievsky and head of the department’s support group Lubov Vidanova.
The letters of commendation were also awarded to Alexei Korolyuk, Director General of the REG.RU accredited registrar, member of the CC for TLD .RU/.РФ Council and ROCIT adviser Mark Tverdynin, as well as members of the CC for TLD .RU/.РФ Council from previous years, including MSK-IX Director General Yelena Voronina, MSK-IX Project Director Pavel Khramtsov, and Yandex Network Infrastructure Director Alexei Sokolov.
“This is a very nice and emotional event. The letters of commendation were awarded not only to our staff but also people who are directly involved with the Coordination Center and its activity. These people took a direct part in drafting and implementing its plans. We have carried out many interesting and useful projects together, including the national Cyrillic domain .РФ. We are marking its 10th anniversary this month. My congratulations to all of you. I wish you good health and enough energy to keep developing Runet,” said Director of the Coordination Center Andrei Vorobyev.
