On May 12, at 12.00 p.m., TASS will host an online news conference dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the .РФ domain and the role of Cyrillic domains in expanding the use of the Russian language on the internet. This news conference will kick off the “10 Years of .РФ” anniversary event, hosted by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ together with the RIF.ONLINE project.
Head of the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Media Mikhail Seslavinsky, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications Sergei Plugotarenko and Rector of the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) Irina Krayeva will talk about the history of the Cyrillic domain, statistics on the use of .РФ and its impact on the digital economy.
The event will be held online. Media representatives can participate in the news conference online with prior accreditation. When registering, be sure to include a mobile number associated with a WhatsApp account.

After the news conference, Runet experts will gather for the “Cyrillic on the Internet” round table, which will also be held online. In addition, all Runet users are invited to participate in the Digital Dictation, which will focus on .РФ and other Cyrillic domains, with a chance to compete for prizes later in the evening in the “10 years with .РФ” online quiz. The program includes a lecture on how to communicate in the digital environment, and an online concert by the Orlov band.
