Viktoria Bunchuk appointed as press secretary for TLD .RU/.РФ Coordination Center

On March 16, Viktoria Bunchuk took over as Press Secretary for the TLD .RU/.РФ Coordination Center, after Mikhail Anisimov https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2020-03-16-ru joined ICANN as Head of Global Stakeholder Engagement for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Viktoria Bunchuk graduated with honors from the Department of Journalism of Moscow State University and has been working in the domain industry since 2007. Her first job in the sector was at Regional Network Information Center (RU-CENTER), where she was regularly promoted from a member to the head of its press office and editor-in-chief of the Domennye Imena (Domain Names) magazine.

In 2015, Viktoria Bunchuk served as spokesperson for ROCIT (Russian Non-Profit Center for Internet Technologies); from 2016 to 2019, as a project manager for the Smart Internet foundation for support of online initiatives; and in 2019, joined the TLD .RU/.РФ Coordination Center as a manager of social and educational projects. From 2017 up until this moment, Viktoria Bunchuk has been editor-in-chief of the Smart Internet online publication.

Her role at the CC was to organize work concerning “educational and social projects aimed at improving the digital literacy of internet users.” One of them was an interactive project for schoolchildren and novice internet users, Explore the Internet & Govern It!

Viktoria Bunchuk is also a member of the Children’s Information Security Working Group at the Public Council under the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights, where she represents the Coordination Center.

I also congratulate Mikhail Anisimov, who has worked in the domain industry for 10 years and was a member of a number of Russian and foreign initiatives, on his new appointment, and wish him continued progress as well as every success” Director of TLD .RU/.РФ Coordination Center Andrei Vorobyov said.
