On February 26, the movie Internet for All will be screened at the Blagosfera cinema club. This movie is a collaboration between the Coordination Center for TLD RU and the Social Film Foundation to mark the 25th anniversary of the .RU domain and Runet. The movie consists of 11 stories about people whose life changed drastically thanks to the internet and new technology. Featured are disabled entrepreneurs, foster families, mom business coaches, environmentalists and others.
The screening will be followed by a discussion and a meet-and-greet with its creators and protagonists. Viewers will be able to discuss the opportunities the internet provides for social and charity projects and the right ways to use them, as well as success stories, with the movie’s producer, Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev; director and screenwriter Mikhail Komlev; and Planeta.ru PR manager Vera Pakhomova. Also joining the discussion will be several people featured in the movie: social entrepreneur Darya Ledneva (Varezhki ot Ba [Grandma’s Gloves] project); Natalya Gorodiskaya, a mother of 14, including 12 foster children she and her husband adopted thanks to the internet; Yekaterina Bezzubova, a woman on maternity leave who created the Business Navigator project to teach other moms on maternity leave basic entrepreneurship; and Sergei Skorobogatov, who represents the Give a Tree crowdfunding project.
