As of February 11, new versions of Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ documents came into force. This includes Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration in .RU and .РФ and the Policy “On the procedures applicable to domain name disputes.”
The Coordination Center Council approved the amendments to these documents at its regular meeting held on December 17, 2019.
Clause 3.4 of the Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration in .RU and .РФ was amended to reflect the expiration on November 30, 2019 of the Policy “On reserving domain names in the .РФ domain for government purposes.” Some of the domains reserved under this clause have not been used so far, which prompted the Council to keep them as a reserve by amending Clause 3.4 of the Terms and Conditions.
Amendments to the Policy “On the procedures applicable to domain name disputes” deal with the registrar’s actions to impose restrictions on operations involving domain names subject to litigation, as well as exercising priority domain name registration rights following the enactment of a court ruling on the merits of a domain name dispute. The amendments also specify the terms for applying the Policy in question.
These amendments are designed to prevent any instances when the terms of the Policy could be subject to double interpretation or improper application.
