A new registrar, SprintLabs from St. Petersburg, has been successfully accredited in the .RU and .РФ domain zones. SprintLabs is the 50th registrar accredited by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. The ceremonial signing of the accreditation agreement took place at the briefing and signing area of the Russian Internet Week 2019 (RIW 2019) on December 12. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Coordination Center and accredited registrars, as well as the registries of other Russian TLDs, and guests and participants of RIW 2019.
“We are happy to greet our new registrar, the SprintLabs company. It has become the 50th registrar accredited in .RU and .РФ, and the third registrar accredited in 2019. SprintLabs is also the 7th registrar in St. Petersburg. The number of domain name registrars in .RU and .РФ is growing steadily, and this, I am sure, will boost the development and growth of the Russian domain market,” Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev said.
“This year is important for the Runet, because it marks the 25th anniversary of the .RU domain. We are happy to join the professional community that cares about the development of the national domain this special year. We would like to thank the Coordination Center for its concerted efforts and for its assistance during all the stages of preparation for the accreditation as a domain name registrar. We believe in magic numbers, and we are especially happy to become the 50th registrar in .RU and .РФ. We are sure that the appearance of young companies among national domain registrars will have a positive influence on the use of .RU domain names,” said SprintLabs general director Anton Prikhodko.

The new registrar will begin its work after technical trials at the Technical Center of Internet and the signing of an agreement granting access to the register of .RU and .РФ domain names.
There are currently 50 registrars in the .RU and .РФ domain zones.
