The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Rostelecom have announced the results of the 8th Explore the Internet and Govern It! national online championship. As many as 17,500 children participated in the championship this year, including 12,500 individual participants and 5,000 competing in teams (946 teams).
The players had 60 minutes to complete tasks of various complexity levels. This year the tasks centered around domains, domain industry management and technical aspects, and the 25th anniversary of the national domain .RU.
The youngsters could also improve their scores by carrying out additional tasks such as creating an infographic about Runet or posting news about the championship on social media, in school or other local media outlets.
Valuable prizes that will come in handy during studies and everyday life were a strong motivation for the participants in their pursuit of victory. The highest-scoring participants will receive MyKronoz ZeRound smart watches, the first and second runners-up Samsung Galaxy A10 smart phones and XEON Funtastique 3D pens, respectively.
Encouragement prizes from the championship partners, Kaspersky Lab and REG.RU, will go to the teams with the fourth and fifth highest scores and individual participants ranking four to ten.

Explore the Internet and Govern It! is an educational project for students that was first created in 2012 by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and Rostelecom to boost digital literacy and improve the quality of IT usage by internet users. Based at the игра-интернет.рф educational portal, the project gamifies knowledge about internet technology. Explore the Internet and Govern It! is also available as a mobile app and quiz. The project’s annual online championship attracts thousands of school and university students from all over the country.
