The second day of the EE DNS Forum 2019 concluded with the “Coaches’ training” dedicated to Universal Acceptance (UA). The training was held at the office of ISOC Armenia, which manages the country’s ccTLD .AM. It was moderated by Dusan Stojicevic, UASG Vice-Chair, and brought together representatives of national registries interested in the promotion of IDN and UA in their ccTLDs.
Dusan Stojicevic spoke about the concept of Universal Acceptance, the current state in the sphere, prospective research areas in the field and his own experience in promoting IDN and UA. According to him, the motivation of the developers and the website owners is the key thing to introducing UA everywhere. In order to do this, it is necessary to study and also to work with the targeted audience, and then demonstrate potential “points of growth” to it: UA’s positive aspects that will help to attract new users or prevent possible commercial risks.
This training session held in Armenia was the first of its kind, tailored for the professional community. In the future, it is planned to hold such events regularly as part of the largest industrial conferences.
The fourth Eastern European DNS Forum (EE DNS FORUM 2019) took place on October 11-12 in Yerevan, Armenia. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ served as its silver sponsor, and the center’s experts took an active part in various sections. The forum in Armenia was attended by 180 participants from a whole range of countries.
