On October 16, the second award ceremony for the Golden Lance independent prize – the main award of Russian-speaking freelancers – was held in Moscow. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ served as the event’s partner and awarded the winner in the Freelance Veteran category.
Mikhail Anisimov, head of the Coordination Center’s External Communications Department, presented the winner’s certificate and a branded backpack full of gadgets and souvenirs to graphic designer Stanislav Regis, who has proven his professionalism and responsibility over his long career. All Golden Lance winners also received gifts commemorating the 25th anniversary of the .RU domain.
“This year, we are celebrating Runet’s 25th anniversary, and I think it is symbolic that the .RU domain, being the main Runet veteran, congratulates a veteran freelancer. We will mark another anniversary in 2020: our second national domain, .РФ, will turn 10 years old; and we are calling on all freelancers to create more content in Russian and register domain names in the .РФ domain. The Coordination Center is always ready to support such projects,” Anisimov said.
The Golden Lance award aims to make freelance services more popular and help create a common information community of freelancers. The Golden Lance was presented for the first time in 2018. In 2019, the main freelance award was given to the 22 best freelancers based on the outcome of expert and public voting.
