On September 5 and 6, Johor, Malaysia, hosted the 76th meeting of the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD 76). Experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ attended the conference.
Head of External Communications at the Coordination Center, Mikhail Anisimov, took part in the session devoted to marketing country-code registries. In his presentation, he focused on the state of the secondary market for domain names in Russia, principles of working with registrars and vacated domains, as well as Coordination Center’s projects in this sphere. The second day of the event was marked by a session on promoting country-code domains amid competition with new gTLDs and social media. Mikhail Anisimov shared with other participants some of the best practices in developing communications strategies for promoting TLDs and cited an example of the campaign to promote the .РФ domain.
The conference in Malaysia brought together over 100 representatives of registries, registrars and various service providers from across the Asia-Pacific. The next APTLD is scheduled to take place in February 2020 in Melbourne, Australia.
