Last Saturday RIFTECH 2019, the largest tech forum in the Volga Region, took place in Ulyanovsk. Well-known experts and popular figures, such as journalist, translator and video blogger Dmitry ‘Goblin’ Puchkov; creator of the popular YouTube channel on technology, Mobile I.M.H.O, Andrei Solovyov; the legend of the What? Where? When? show Alexander Druz; and Match TV commentator and soccer video blogger Yevgeny Savin, attended the forum.
The Coordination Center for TLDs .RU/.РФ was a partner and presented its stand featuring the Explore the Internet & Govern It! game.
The center’s Special Project Manager Yevgeny Pankov talked about the importance of a website for online businesses, the legal aspects of domain name use and the center’s projects aimed at improving security on Runet and the public’s digital skills. His report, “From blocking to cybersquatting: The main risks for online businesses,” focused on the history and development trends with .RU and .РФ. The forum was part of the anniversary events, and .RU’s 25th anniversary was a key topic on the forum program.
The forum participants could ask any question about working with domains, test their knowledge of internet technologies in the Explore the Internet & Govern It! game and receive souvenirs with the anniversary logo at the Coordination Center’s stand.
