On August 11, the largest IT race, RUNIT25, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of .RU, took place in Izmailovo Park with the support of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
Over 1,100 athletes took part in the race, including representatives of IT companies and large IT holdings, designers, developers, programmers and people who are somehow connected to high technology. Runners could choose a distance from three to 25 kilometers and compete individually or as part of a team. There were also races for the youngest participants: 300 meters for children aged four to six and 600 meters for those aged above seven.
Before the competition, every participant received a race packet that contained a T-shirt, bib number, sport supplement, and individual time tracker. After crossing the finish line, everyone got a medal; the winners received cups, prizes and gifts from organizers and sponsors.
“The IT race has been held for the third year in a row, and the Coordination Center has supported it each year. This time it is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the .RU ccTLD, which is the best reason to unite the industry and allow every participant to feel like part of the Russian internet’s history. It is great to see so many Russian IT specialists choosing a healthy lifestyle,” said Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev.
