On May 23, 2019, a new version of the Rules of .RU and .РФ Domain Name Registration entered into force. The pinpoint changes made to the rules affect certain aspects of domain name registration and support.
The changes will contribute to improving the security of using the Russian domain space and the internet in general and are aimed at ensuring the integrity, continuity, stability, sustainability and security of the Russian national internet infrastructure, preventing the use of the domain name registration system for illegal purposes.
The decision to amend the Rules was made at a meeting of the Coordination Center Council for the TLD .RU/.РФ on February 28, 2019.
