On February 28, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Council held a regular meeting where the council chair was reelected. General Director of the Internet Development Institute Sergei Petrov was reelected for a second term. His candidacy was suggested by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and supported unanimously by all Council members.
The meeting participants discussed increasing the Coordination Center’s stabilization fund. The fund was set up for use in any emergency situation affecting the stable and safe operation of the Russian domain space. The Council decided to increase the fund from 35 to 50 million rubles.
The Council members also examined progress reports on the implementation of two projects supported and financed by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ: Digital Region and the Development of a Standard Russian Module to Study Internet Technology. The meeting participants made comments and suggestions on the further implementation of the projects after studying the documents and then approved the reports, taking into consideration the notes from the Council members.
The participants also discussed other organizational and administrative issues.
