Experts from European national registries arrive in Moscow

The CENTR Jamboree 2018 conference opened on May 30. It is being held in Moscow for the first time. The conference is being attended by over 150 experts and specialists representing the registries of national top-level domains that are members of https://www.centr.org/ CENTR (Council of European National TLD Registries). During the three days of the conference the participants will exchange experience and new initiatives at seminars on technical and legal issues, security and marketing, and will listen to speeches by invited experts.

Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center, noted that this spring the Coordination Center has taken an active part in a number of international events: “Last week we received ICANN President Göran Marby in Moscow and ICANN Chief Technology Officer David Conrad, and today we’re hosting Jamboree 2018 with representatives of national registries from all over the world. It is a great honor for us to see so many of our colleagues here. I’m confident that our work will be productive and will continue at the other events scheduled for this year.”

CENTR is the Council of European National TLD Registries. Currently, CENTR has 54 full and nine associate members; together they are responsible for more than 80 percent of all domain names registered in national domains worldwide. The Board of Directors of CENTR includes Irina Daneliya, Deputy Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU. The objectives of CENTR are to facilitate and contribute to the development of standards and best practices among country-code top-level domain registries (ccTLDs).
