A number of important events dedicated to various aspects of digital economy and global network development are held annually in late May in St. Petersburg. This year, all these events took place during one week. Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU Andrey Vorobyev spoke at the 2018 St. Petersburg Internet Conference and took park in the 28th HostObzor Russian Forum of Hosting Providers and Registrars. He also discussed the Coordination Center’s youth initiatives at the IT Breakfast held on the morning of May 26 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
During the IT Breakfast, which united iconic figures of the Russian internet industry, Andrey Vorobyev spoke about the social and humanitarian consequences of the digital transformation: changes in the economy that make it necessary to take into account the interests of a growing number of parties while developing regulatory and educational expertise. “Right now we can see the youth’s active involvement in the internet management process and the growing role of international exchange of experience,” Vorobyev noted.
The “Blocking .RU/.РФ domain names: Current situation” roundtable discussion was held at the HostObzor Forum that ends today. The Coordination Center’s lawyers explained the specifics and procedure of cooperation with competent agencies and participants of the Netoscope project, and studied examples of situations when infringing domains were removed from delegation.
