The 22nd Russian Internet Forum will take place on April 18–20 at the Lesnye Dali guest house in the Moscow Region. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ traditionally supports the forum and holds both official and informal events there. In addition, the Coordination Center’s experts take part in the business program.
On April 18, Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev will speak at the opening ceremony about today’s domain market and what its participants should expect in the near future. After the plenary session, Vorobyev will participate in the Data Business section with a presentation of the survey the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has carried out together with the Higher School of Economics. The report titled Russian Internet Development Trends with statistics on various development areas of the Russian internet segment has been prepared following the survey.
On the second day of the forum, April 19, the Coordination Center will hold the Domains VS. Stakeholders section. The discussion will concern ways to protect stakeholders and e-commerce participants from domain squatters and, at the same time, to make domain registration as easy as possible. The section will feature representatives of the Association of Internet Trade Companies (AITC) with their recommendations on how to organize the registration system’s work. Representatives of registrars, responsible agencies, domain investors and stakeholders as well as independent experts will also take part in the discussion. In addition, an extended meeting of the Coordination Center’s Committee for Domain Space Development will be held on the same day.
2018 is the year of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, and the Coordination Center’s activities at the Russian Internet Forum will be related to football. There will be a large Coordination Center tent next to the entrance to the main guest house open throughout the forum. The tent will host a Sony PlayStation competition where everybody will be able to create a team and feel like a world-class footballer. There will also be a conference area to meet with representatives of Sony PlayStation and accredited registrars.
Next to the tent, football fans will be able to show off their skills and participate in various contests with a professional football player and a daredevil fan.
There will be accredited .RU and .РФ registrars at the Coordination Center booth who will present their services and hold various quizzes and contests. Winners will receive souvenirs. Visitors of the exhibition will be able to record themselves with football merchandise in a 3D video and a bullet time installation of the Coordination Center. In addition, visitors will have a chance to take part in a domain quest and win a valuable prize.
