On 6 March, a regular meeting of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Board took place. Board members addressed issues related to the technical aspects of the zone file formation. The Board agreed to make changes to the Zone file access policy in the domains .RU and .РФ.
In addition, a project to support the introduction of digital technologies “Digital Region” was presented at the Board meeting. “Digital Region” is a set of informational, educational, research and analytical events for people who make decisions on the introduction of digital technologies in different areas of government in Russian regions and local authorities. The CC Board supported the “Digital Region” project and found the financing of the project viable.
“The goals of the project are consistent with the statutory objectives of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ. In particular, The Charter of the Coordination Center reads that one of the goals of the Coordination Center is to expand the use of Internet in Russian Federation in the interests of users, businesses and the state. Widespread usage of digital technologies in Russia, which is the goal of the “Digital Region” project, is based on the Internet as a basic technology. This is why we are happy to support such socially significant project and take part in its implementation”, said Andrey Vorobyev, CEO of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.
