Submission of papers for the Third National Youth Competition in Intellectual Property and Information Technologies Law «IP&IT LAW 2018» has now closed. The Competition was organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and IP CLUB with support from the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications.
Each of the shortlisted works is a relevant study on problematic legal issues interfacing information technologies based on legislation and Russian and foreign jurisprudence. These works also offer new ways of dealing with these issues.
Finalists are postgraduates, young specialists in the field of law as well as students receiving specialized education at universities in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Tula, Southern and North-Caucasian federal districts.
Among the topics that participants selected for their study were the legal regulation of the Internet of Things and social networks, the prospects for regulating virtual property and robots as subjects of law, the issue of the lawful usage of big data as well as the problem of recognition of the human right to have access to the Internet.
Representative jury will assess contest submissions. The jury includes famous lawyers that specialize in these areas of law, including Andrey Vorobyev, CEO of the Coordination Center, and Sergey Kopylov, Deputy CEO of legal affairs of the Coordination Center.
Awarding of the winners of the “IP&IT LAW 2018” will take place at the Russian Internet Governance Forum (RIGF-2018) on 6 April in Saint Petersburg.
The most interesting submissions of the winners will be published in the “E-commerce, online and offline trade” collection (“Analysis of the modern law” series). The prizes include practical gadgets from the Coordination Center, the possibility to take part in the Skolkovo Patent School 2018 for free, certificates for the free participation in the law school “Statut”, Internet version of the “GARANT-Lawyer” package and other nice and useful gifts.
