On 1 February 2018, the sixth annual DOT-Journalism Awards 2018 started accepting applications. One of the main goals of the awards is to popularize domain topics among Internet users and raise the professional level of materials written on Internet addressing systems.
Journalists that write about domains and other Internet addressing systems are invited to take part. Articles, notes, analytical materials, opinion pieces, video and radio reports, created by one or several journalists and published from 1 January until 1 October 2018 can be submitted for jury’s consideration.
The awards are presented in seven main categories:
- Analytical articles on domain zones .RU/.РФ (the best analytical material)
- Better than anyone on domains (the best series of publications made by one author)
- What’s happening in the industry (reports covering domain events)
- On domains on TV and Radio (the best TV, radio report)
- Regions above all (the best item from the regional media)
- Is there life beyond Runet (the best journalistic piece written in Russian and published abroad)
- The huge world of domains (the best material on the new top-level domains)
Requirements for participants competing in the main categories of the DOT-Journalism Award 2018
For beginners, there is a special category – Cub Reporters. Anyone under 18 years old studying in a secondary or specialized school is invited to participate. Pieces of cub reporters could be written on any subjects related to Internet technologies, not necessarily on domain industry.

In order to participate, you need to fill out an application form on the website before October 1, 2018.
The jury will consist of professional journalists who are experts in the field of Internet technologies as well as managers and specialists of companies’ press offices that are related to the domain industry. They can also nominate any relevant journalistic piece for an award that wasn’t submitted through the online form on the website.
The results will be announced in November during the Russian Internet Week 2018 ( RIW 2018). The winners will get diplomas and valuable gifts.

We remind that the DOT-Journalism Awards are organized by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) and with the support of .ДЕТИ domain. The purpose of the Awards is to reward journalists that cover trends of the domain industry, key events related to the usage of DNS and other Internet addressing systems in their articles, analytical materials, video and radio reports.
