In December 2017, competent organizations asked registrars to terminate delegation of 451 domain names in total. This was reported in a new monthly report of competent organizations published on Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ’s website.
As a result, 442 domain names' delegation was terminated, 24 of them were later unblocked because the owners of domain names eliminated the reasons for blocking. Unblocking was carried out at the request of the corresponding competent organization after the reasons for blocking were eliminated.
Registrars didn't block 9 domain names because domain names' owners quickly eliminated the violations. At the moment, 418 domain names remain blocked, 33 domain names are being delegated.
Phishing resources account for the highest number of discovered domains-violators (224 requests). At the same time, botnet-controllers account for the lowest number – 28 requests.
We remind that the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ started working together with the organizations competent in determining violations on the Internet in 2012. These are the companies that provide the Coordination Center and accredited domain name registrars with information on resources containing illegal content, on phishing cases, on unauthorized access to information systems and distribution of malicious software using domain names in zones .РФ and .RU. Registrars have the right to terminate delegation of such domain names.
Today there are eight competent organizations that cooperate with the Coordination Center on this matter. These are Safe Internet League, Group-IB, Kaspersky Lab, RU-CERT, Regional Public Center of Internet Technologies, The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), OOO “BIZon” (LLC) and the Central Bank of Russia. Any user of the Internet can report inappropriate usage of a domain name using the hotline of one of these organizations and measures will be taken immediately.
