Andrey Vorobyev addressed the Armenian School on Internet Governance students

On January 20th, Andrey Vorobyev, Director at the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, addressed the students of the Armenian School on Internet Governance, which ISOC Armenia is holding for the second time already. Andrey Vorobyev talked to the participants about the functioning of the registration system in Russian country-code domains .RU and .РФ, presented Coordination Center’s educational projects and invited audience members to take part in the IP&IT LAW competition and the Russian Internet Governance Forum, which will take place in Saint Petersburg on April 6th.

“I’m pleased that young people are so keenly interested in such seemingly bureaucratic issues as Internet governance. Youngsters already know a lot about this process, they asked many questions and were interested in our IP&IT LAW competition for law students. We want to suggest holding this competition in all countries of our region. We have already begun discussing this possibility with ISOC Armenia. I believe that this idea will find support in Armenia and many other post-Soviet countries”, Andrey Vorobyev shared his impressions after talking with the students.

Students of Armenian universities from different cities that sent their applications and passed the selection on a competition basis are taking part in the Armenian School of Internet Governance. The first school tool place in July 2017, 30 students participated in a five-day seminar. For the second one there were 89 contenders who applied and 38 were selected.
