The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ’s traditional participation in the Site Formula seminar has concluded in Voronezh this year. During the autumn seminar cycle, experts from the Coordination Center visited six Russian cities in total: Belgorod, Kaliningrad, Tomsk, Bryansk, Novokuznetsk and Voronezh. Mikhail Anisimov, deputy head of the Coordination Center’s Information Service, Tatyana Novikova, senior project manager, and Yevgeny Pankov, head of special projects, spoke with internet businesspeople.
This autumn, the experts’ speeches were focused mainly on personal data processing and the aspects of the Russian legislation closely connected to it. In Voronezh, Yevgeny Pankov continued this topic and discussed with seminar participants various categories of personal data, liabilities for collecting and processing it without a license and other specifics of working with client data. In addition to that, the participants of the previous seminars heard about the rules of working with domain names, domain disputes and how domain names relate to trademarks.
“We have taken part in Site Formula for the second year now, and this is useful not only for the audience but for the Coordination Center as well. We receive information about the problems related to domain use that the internet business community has, we learn where additional explanation is needed and where we should think about changes, straight from the source. Personal data, a very important topic I believe, has become mainstream this autumn for our audience: this is where we got the most questions. We are planning to continue to participate in the Site Formula seminars next spring,” said Mikhail Anisimov following the fall series of seminars.
