Registrars get 499 requests from responsible agencies

This October, responsible agencies sent registrars 499 requests in total on cancelling domain delegation, a report published on the website of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ reads.

The report analyses the malicious domains by the type of activity, showing that domain names sending malware ranked highest (233 hits), followed by phishing website (199 hits) and bot network controllers (67 hits).
The delegation of 490 domains was cancelled on applications from responsible agencies during the report period. This procedure was not necessary for 9 other domains, because the blocking problem was rapidly solved by the registrants (or the website was blocked by the hosting provider).

Today 487 domains remained blocked (in three cases, the delegation has been restored after the appeal from the corresponding responsible agency after removing the cause of the block).

Cooperation with the agencies tasked with identifying online violations was established by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ in 2012. These are companies, which provide the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ and accredited domain registrars with information on resources with illegal content, cases of phishing, unsanctioned access to information systems and malware spreading using .РФ and .RU domains. The registrars can cancel the domain delegation for such resources.

Today eight responsible agencies are cooperating with the .РФ и .RU: the Safe Internet League, Group-IB, Kaspersky Lab, RU-CERT, ROCIT, the Federal Supervision Service for Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), BIZon and the Bank of Russia. Any user can report inappropriate use of a domain using the hotlines of these organizations, and measures will be taken immediately.
