Applications are being accepted for IP&IT LAW-2018, the second national youth competition in intellectual property and information technologies law. The competition is organized by the educational and expert project IP CLUB and the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, with support from the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications.
IP&IT LAW-2018 participants compete remotely by producing a written work on a given topic. Participation is free. Works will be accepted until January 15, 2018 (until 9 pm Moscow time).
Those eligible to participate are students at state-run and non-state-run universities, postgraduates, young specialists who finished university no more than three years ago and university applicants (school students in 11th grade) from Russia and abroad. Winners will receive certificates from the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications and valuable prizes from the organizers and partners. In 2017, the first and second place winners were awarded medals from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), which is a sign of the competition’s international recognition.
The awards ceremony will traditionally take place as part of the Russian Internet Governance Forum that is due in St. Petersburg in 2018.
